Our understanding of urban environments as complex systems from an ecological point of view is making our cities more aware of the implications of production and consumptions models. Local commitments to tackle environmental impacts are crucial to build robust frameworks of global action, and cities are becoming leaders in testing, advancing and demonstrating available technologies and solutions are ready to make a difference. Sectors such as energy, water or transportation in cities have a huge impact in our global footprint, and smart technologies are accelerating the adoption of more efficient and sustainable solutions. The session is intended at showcasing a number of projects and initiatives making the best of digital technologies to transition to a greener built environment.
