17:15 - 18:30 (23/03/2023)
Plenária Principal
The negative effects of the unstoppable increasing use of private vehicles as the chosen mode for local travels can be seeing directly, not only in massive traffic problems, but also in urban land use, and in the characteristics of the public spaces allocated to it. Therefore, they have a direct effect on the sustainability of the city and people's quality of life. Who is responsible for leading the sustainable urban transition? What are the tools and actions needed to accomplish a change of course? What kind of public policies and institutional partnerships can be done to achieve a real change of mindset in the direction of smarter and more sustainable mobility solutions for our cities? The aim of this session is to offer new perspectives on collaborative strategies between the public sector, industry, researchers, innovation institutes and planners in the development of standard solutions towards the urban mobility transition.
