Algeciras Port is the leading facility in the Spanish Port System and fourth in Europe by total throughput (104,7 Mtn in 2023) standing out for traffic volumes in containers (5 MTEUs), solid and liquid bulks, passengers (5M) or Ro-Ro/Ro-Pax. Currently Juan Pablo is coordinating Port of Algeciras participation in different initiatives aiming for the development of alternative marine fuels and an early development of hydrogen and derivatives for export and bunker.
